O presente texto propõe-se a refletir, no rastro de Arendt, sobre o declínio da política na modernidade diante de sua redução à administração da vida e das necessidades vitais. Para tanto, discutiremos a “moderna alienação do mundo” fomentada pela ascensão do trabalho e da vida, e refletiremos sobre a redução da política à administração da vida diante do advento do social e da vitória do animal laborans. Pressupõe-se que, examinarmos tais categorias nos permite observar o ocaso da política na era (...) moderna e a sua transformação em biopolítica, e, ademais, como esta categoria segue na contramão da noção política da autora. Para a metodologia, realizamos uma exegese filosófica das obras referencias, especialmente a obra A Condição Humana (1958), de Hannah Arendt. (shrink)

As variadas lutas por uma vida vivível rebatem ontologicamente a figura do humano, aquela que querendo ou não, atravessa o pensamento moderno eurocentrado ocidental, que por vezes em situação de enquadramento, encapsula os humanos e os naturaliza como uma totalidade, esquecendo da desnaturalização e da despossessão. Judith Butler no processo de reconhecimento, abre margens para tensionarmos quais vidas são passíveis do enlutamento coletivo e, portanto, consideradas vidas humanas/legítimas/vivíveis. Eis o desafio do nosso texto, reverberar o enlutamento público e coletivo no (...) lugar Arouche, que hoje simboliza um habitar de luta e um lugar de moradia para muitas pessoas LGBTQIAPN+. Por isso, repensar o Humano, assim como o Humanismo, se faz basilar no contexto contemporâneo, onde várias corporeidades estão marginalizadas por não fazerem parte de um modelo normativo de humano. O caminho feito está proposto pelas bases da fenomenologia, que busca deslindar os fenômenos como eles são e como eles se manifestam no mundo vivido (voltar às coisas mesmas). Por isso, circunscrever vidas vivíveis e o enlutamento público se mostram como relevantes possibilidades de deflagrar a fenomenologia dos lugares e do habitar contemporâneo. (shrink)

In this study, we aim to disentangle pantomime from early signs in a newly-born sign language: Sao Tome and Principe Sign Language. Our results show that within 2 years of their first contact with one another, a community of 100 participants interacting everyday was able to build a shared language. The growth of linguistic systematicity, which included a decrease in use of pantomime, reduction of the amplitude of signs and an increase in articulation economy, showcases a learning, and social interaction (...) process that constitutes a continuum and not a cut-off system. The human cognitive system is endowed with mechanisms for symbolization that allow the process of arbitrariness to unfold and the expansion of linguistic complexity. Our study helps to clarify the role of pantomime in a new sign language and how this role might be linked with language itself, showing implications for language evolution research. (shrink)

ObjectiveThe presence of two or more chronic diseases results in worse clinical outcomes than expected by a simple combination of diseases. This synergistic effect is expected to be higher when combined with some conditions, depending on the number and severity of diseases. Multimorbidity is a relatively new term, with the first fundamental definitions appearing in 2015. Studies usually define it as the presence of at least two chronic medical illnesses. However, little is known regarding the relationship between mental disorders and (...) other non-psychiatric chronic diseases. This review aims at investigating the association between some mental disorders and non-psychiatric diseases, and their pattern of association.MethodsWe performed a systematic approach to selecting papers that studied relationships between chronic conditions that included one mental disorder from 2015 to 2021. These were processed using Covidence, including quality assessment.ResultsThis resulted in the inclusion of 26 papers in this study. It was found that there are strong associations between depression, psychosis, and multimorbidity, but recent studies that evaluated patterns of association of diseases had heterogeneous results. Quality assessment of the papers generally revealed low quality among the included studies.ConclusionsThere is evidence of an association between depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychosis with multimorbidity. Given the need to explore the factors that can account for a better understanding of the intention-behavior gap in exercise practice in health club settings, and considering the emergence of hedonic assumptions related to exercise adherence, this cross-sectional study aimed to test the moderation effect of the intensity traits agreement/disagreement in three relevant outcomes of exercise enjoyment: exercise habit, intention to continue exercising, and exercise frequency. A sample consisted of 273 exercisers (male = 127; Mage = 36.21; SD = 11.29) (...) enrolled in nine health clubs who voluntarily fulfilled a battery of questionnaires. All analyses were performed using SPSS v. 23.0/PROCESS v. 3.5. The results of the study presented a moderation effect of exercise intensity traits agreement on three relevant enjoyment outcomes: exercise habit, intention to continue exercising, and exercise frequency. No relevant results emerged from intensity traits disagreement. The results suggest that assessing and tailoring exercise prescription and supervision in order to customize exercise intensity may influence future exercise participation. (shrink)

Translating and validating measurement instruments in sport and exercise psychology is not an easy task. Rather, it is a task that requires effort and time, for the process is not limited to a simple translation to translate words from one language to another, just in order to make valid and reliable measure. All researchers should be aware that the only proper way is to adopt rigorous and robust methodologies to conduct the process from the preliminary stage of translation to reaching (...) the validation stage of the psychological variable. Only so is it possible to avoid creating fragile and inadequate psychological assessment instruments that can jeopardize the entire investigation to be held with its use. Thus, the main objective of this work is to promote reflection and discussion on the subject by presenting some considerations and recommendations about translation and validation of questionnaires for psychological assessment applied to sport and exercise domain. Tem como objetivo refletir acerca do preconceito e da discriminação no âmbito das práticas colaborativas de representação de conteúdos por meio da Folksonomia. A pesquisa possui caráter qualitativo e a hermenêutica enquanto método, aliado à interdisciplinaridade de campos e de teorias. Quando não considerados no âmbito da Folksonomia, o preconceito e a discriminação emergem como uma gap epistêmica, uma vez que ambos podem se apropriar da Folksonomia para prosperar. Destaca que a Folksonomia não pressupõe a imposição de regras para a (...) seleção de tags a serem utilizadas pelos(as) usuários(as) em ambiente web, haja vista o seu caráter colaborativo. Por isso ela pode ser utilizada através da lógica do preconceito e discriminação, aplicada por humanos e/ou robôs (autônomos ou assistidos) para a rápida popularização de fake news e da cultura do cancelamento- algumas das estruturas perversas que promovem a vertigem da Sociedade da Informação, e que têm refletido sobre os sujeitos LGBTQIA+. A Interdisciplinaridade é uma orientação epistêmica e constituída de muitas dimensões e os protocolos de aplicação, mas algumas vezes banalizada quando envolvida pelo Kitsch, uma força fugaz e acrítica que atravessa a ciência, e que incide sobre à Interdisciplinaridade a configurando como um brecholê, uma junção sem reflexão e critérios. A vista disso, como ocorre a percepção da Interdisciplinaridade através da perspectiva Kitsch? O objetivo versou em descortinar através da Gestalt a Interdisciplinaridade do fenômeno Kitsch. A Gestalt foca os estudos (...) da ‘percepção’, ela procura intensificar o fato de que a compreensão do todo é o processo preliminar de compreensão da realidade para, posteriormente possamos compreender os fragmentos. É uma pesquisa qualitativa, pois versa em ações subjetivas sobre a Interdisciplinaridade e a Hermenêutica como método através dos círculos de investigação para compressão exploratória que permite explorar novos fenômeno poucos conhecidos e construir hipóteses. Alguns dos resultados preliminares desta pesquisa na forma de hipótese infere que há uma ligação em evolução entre o Kitsch e a Interdisciplinaridade. (shrink)

Classifying domain entities into their respective top-level ontology concepts is a complex problem that typically demands manual analysis and deep expertise in the domain of interest and ontology engineering. Using an efficient approach to classify domain entities enhances data integration, interoperability, and the semantic clarity of ontologies, which are crucial for structured knowledge representation and modeling. Based on this, our main motivation is to help an ontology engineer with an automated approach to classify domain entities into top-level ontology concepts using (...) informal definitions of these domain entities during the ontology development process. In this context, we hypothesize that the informal definitions encapsulate semantic information crucial for associating domain entities with specific top-level ontology concepts. Our approach leverages state-of-the-art language models to explore our hypothesis across multiple languages and informal definitions from different knowledge resources. In order to evaluate our proposal, we extracted multi-label datasets from the alignment of the OntoWordNet ontology and the BabelNet semantic network, covering the entire structure of the Dolce-Lite-Plus top-level ontology from most generic to most specific concepts. These datasets contain several different textual representation approaches of domain entities, including terms, example sentences, and informal definitions. Our experiments conducted 3 study cases, investigating the effectiveness of our proposal across different textual representation approaches, languages, and knowledge resources. We demonstrate that the best results are achieved using a classification pipeline with a K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method to classify the embedding representation of informal definitions from the Mistral large language model. The findings underscore the potential of informal definitions in reflecting top-level ontology concepts and point towards developing automated tools that could significantly aid ontology engineers during the ontology development process. Presenta las microagencias colectivas que engendran formas de resistir los estándares establecidos, forjando nuevas formas de (re)existir y “ver, oír, pensar” en las escuelas, problematizando: ¿Cómo crean posibilidades las vidas cotidianas escolares, insertadas en una lucha micropolítica, con diferentes intensidades e impulsos de vida? Sostiene que la vida escolar diaria contribuye a los movimientos de lucha y resistencia a través de la creación de otros modos de (re)existencia.

IntroductionRegular exercise has long been shown to positively impact the immune system responsiveness and improve mental well-being. However, the putative links between biomarkers of mental health and immune efficiency in exercising subjects have been scarcely investigated. The aim of this study was to verify the effect of a 14-week combined chair-based exercise program on salivary steroid hormones and anti-microbial proteins, functional fitness, and MWB indexes in pre-frail older women.MethodsThe participant women were randomly divided into the exercising group and the non-exercising (...) control group. The pre/post assessment included: salivary anti-microbial proteins lysozyme; and immunoglobulin-A ; salivary steroid hormones of testosterone and cortisol ; functional fitness ; MWB questionnaires.ResultsSignificant differences with large Cohen’s effect sizes were found on increased salivary TT after exercise intervention. The results revealed a decrease in IgA levels after CEP. The increase in subjective happiness levels and decrease of stress perception and depressive state were found after intervention in the CEP group. Robust statistical differences in gait speed and balance tests were also found in the CEP group. In control, COR increased moderately while no changes were found for the other indicators. Correlation analyses showed inter-dependence between pre–post variations of MWB, biochemical indexes, and fitness function.ConclusionThe CEP program was able to improve functional-fitness performance, decrease feelings of stress, and increase happiness. The CEP also induced clinically relevant hormonal and immune responses, which suggests that chair exercises that combine muscular strength, balance, and gait speed training are promising interventions to improve physical and mental health of older pre-frail adults. Objective: This study aims to compare the acoustic vocal analysis results of a group of transgender women relative to those of cisgender women.Methods: Thirty transgender women between the ages of 19 and 52 years old participated in the study. The control group was composed of 31 cisgender women between the ages of 20 and 48 years old. A standardized questionnaire was administered to collect general patient data to better characterize the participants. The vowel /a/ sounds of all participants were collected (...) and analyzed by the Multi-Dimensional Voice Program advanced system.Results: Statistically significant differences between cisgender and transgender women were found on 14 measures: fundamental frequency, maximum fundamental frequency, minimum fundamental frequency, standard deviation of fundamental frequency, absolute jitter, percentage or relative jitter, fundamental frequency relative average perturbation, fundamental frequency perturbation quotient, smoothed fundamental frequency perturbation quotient, fundamental frequency variation, absolute shimmer, relative shimmer, voice turbulence index, and soft phonation index. The mean fundamental frequency value was 159.046 Hz for the cases and 192.435 Hz for the controls.Conclusion: Through glottal adaptations, the group of transgender women managed to feminize their voices, presenting voices that were less aperiodic and softer than those of cisgender women. Competitive sports involve physiological, technical and psychological skills, which influence directly on individuals’ performance. This study aims to investigate the levels of perceived stress and Heart Rate Variability before and after matches with victory and defeat in professional eSports athletes. Our hypothesis was that the winners would have better autonomic and stress responses after match, thus corroborating the literature on neurocardiac connections. Fifty male eSport players were selected players from 10 different Brazilian teams. The experiment was carried out in 2 (...) sessions. Firstly, after signing the informed consent form, 24 h before the game, anthropometric, physical activity levels and time of expertise data were recorded only for sample characterization and the players were familiarized with the perceived stress scale—10 and the HRV measurements. Secondly, players performed the PSS-10 and HRV recording at rest by 10 min 60 and 30 min before the game and 10 min after the end of the game. Overall, concerning PSS-10 our findings show that VG had significant reduced scores in post-game time compared to baseline and pre-game times, while DG had significant increased scores in post-game time compared to BL and pre-game times. Regarding HRV, our results demonstrate that VG had significant increase in RR, SDNN, rMSSD, pNN50 and HF, and significant decrease in LF and LF/HF, while DG had a significant decrease in RR, SDNN, rMSSD and HF, and significant increase in LF and LF/HF. It was observed that VG had better HRV responses as well as lower levels of perceived stress, while DG had worst HRV responses and higher levels of perceived stress. (shrink)

Este artículo se propone analizar las representaciones narrativas de las migraciones centroamericanas hacia los Estados Unidos, en su paso por México, tal como son elaboradas en las novelas Amarás a Dios sobre todas las cosas (2013), del escritor mexicano Alejandro Hernández y La mara (2004), del también mexicano Rafael Ramírez Heredia. Nos enfocaremos en dos temas que consideramos de mayor importancia en ambas obras para comprender la Centroamérica de hoy: el papel que juega el concepto de camino para el (...) migrante de Amarás a Dios sobre todas las cosas (2013) y el de entre-lugar en La mara (2004). La reflexión que planteamos en este artículo forma parte de una discusión más amplia desarrollada en nuestra tesis doctoral, que tuvo como eje central las migraciones centroamericanas hacia los Estados Unidos y las representaciones que de estas se hacen en la narrativa contemporánea de la región centroamericana. Interesan de manera particular esos dos textos porque trabajan de manera diferente ambos aspectos –el cronotopo del camino y la noción de entre-lugar–, al mismo tiempo que forman parte de un creciente corpus de novelas que tienen como tema central los movimientos migratorios en la región. Começando por notar que o krausismo português se reveste de uma importância muito maior do que a que lhe foi atribuída pelos seus primeiros estudiosos, pois, além de ter dominado o ensino jurídico nas décadas de 40 a 60 do século XIX, teve significativo eco no Curso Superior de Letras e no ensino secundário e contribuiu decisivamente para a formação do pensamento de autores como Cunha Seixas e Joaquim Maria da Silva, o A. refere as características principais que apresenta este (...) movimento filosófico. Passa, depois, a estabelecer um confronto entre o pensamento de Antero e o do seu professor Joaquim Maria Rodrigues de Brito, tanto do relativo à época de Coimbra (1865-66), como de correspondente ao período de maturidade do poeta-filósofo, concluindo ter sido a partir do krausismo e das suas teses essenciais que se desenvolveu a filosofia anteriana, que com ele veio a coincidir em grande número de questões nucleares /// L'Auteur commence par noter que le krausisme portugais occupe une place beaucoup plus importante que celle qui lui fut attribuée par les premiers spécialistes qui l'ont étudié, car, outre le fait d'avoir dominé l' enseignement du droit durant les décennies 40 à 60 du XlX.e siècle, il s'est répercuté de façon significative sur le Cours Supérieur de Lettres ainsi que sur l'enseignement secondaire, et il a contribué de façon décisive à la formation de la pensée d'auteurs tels que Cunha Seixas et Joaquim Maria da Silva. Mit dem erstmals in einer zweisprachigen, umfangreich kommentierten Edition vorliegenden Liber de platano (1537) erschließt sich ein außergewöhnliches Zeugnis des portugiesischen Humanismus. Das aus einer Abhandlung sowie einem Briefwechsel zwischen dem Dichter João Rodrigues de Sá de Meneses und dem Rhetorikprofessor Juan Fernández bestehende Werk greift mit dem Platanenbaum ein Motiv auf, das durch Platons Phaidros und Ciceros De oratore popularisiert wurde: In beiden Texten finden philosophische Gespräche unter einer Platane statt. Allerdings wird der Baum im Liber de platano (...) zu einem mehrdeutigen Sinnbild. Zwar geht es durchaus um die botanische Frage nach dem Vorkommen der Platane im zeitgenössischen Portugal, doch erweist sich der Buam darüber hinaus auch als Inbild antiker Gesprächskultur und eines an der Antike orientierten genussvollen Lebensstils. In der einleitenden Studie stellt Roger Friedlein neben einer Einführung in den Text die Autoren sowie weitere Humanisten - Miguel da Silva, Jorge Coelho und Luís Teixeira - vor, die einerseits durch ihre Präsenz im Liber de platano von Bedeutung sind. Doch vor dem Hitergund ihrer Aufenthalte in Italien und ihrer Kontakte zu herausragenden Vertretern der italienischen Renaissance wie Pietro Bembo erscheint der Liber de platano zudem als zentrales Zeugnis für den portugiesisch-italienischen Kulturkontakt. Este artigo pretende discutir a avalição em larga escala, tema atual e polêmico, pois é um procedimento considerado preocupante para educadores e estudiosos da educação brasileira, em todas as suas modalidades, desde a educação básica até ao ensino superior. Abordaremos aqui a avaliação em larga escala já em processo no ensino fundamental, principalmente por tratar-se de fase crucial do ensino, a educação básica. No caso específico deste artigo, discutiremos a Prova Brasil, instrumento da avaliação em larga escala no Ensino Fundamental (...) I. Apresentamos resultados de uma pesquisa realizada junto a professores de uma escola da Rede Municipal do interior do Estado de São Paulo. Os resultados mostram a insatisfação dos professores frente à avaliação externa, principalmente focando a perda de autonomia deles próprios no desenvolvimento da Matriz Curricular. Teoricamente os resultados da prova Brasil deveriam dirigir possíveis ações mantendo ou reformulando, seja a Matriz Curricular em si, seja a ação dos professores e gestores escolares, mas não é o que ocorre. A pesquisa na qual nos baseamos mostra que o ápice atingido pela avaliação externa foi moldar a ação dos professores às questões da Prova Brasil. In this article, we propose a belief revision approach for families of (non-classical) logics whose semantics are first-order axiomatisable. Given any such (non-classical) logic , the approach enables the definition of belief revision operators for , in terms of a belief revision operation satisfying the postulates for revision theory proposed by Alchourrrdenfors and Makinson (AGM revision, Alchourrukasiewicz's many-valued logic. In addition, we present a general methodology to translate algebraic logics into classical logic. O presente artigo procura refletir como elementos das tecnologias da informação e comunicação na educação se localizam na epistemologia hermenêutica. Essa realidade acaba gerando um enorme desafio à educação no sentido de encontrar “razões” que justifiquem, não só metodologias, mas o seu sentido de ser no mundo conectado. Partindo da “compreensão” como modo de ser do indivíduo humano e, consequentemente, lócus apropriado para a reflexão e o fazer pedagógico pretende-se apresentar uma abordagem viável da TIC no processo educativo a partir (...) da epistemologia hermenêutica. O trabalho pretende apresentar a racionalidade hermenêutica como uma epistemologia totalmente viável para promover a compreensão teórica-conceitual da utilização das novas tecnologias da comunicação e informação no âmbito dos processos educativos contemporâneos, para tanto se ancora nas noções de compreensão e de linguagem, bem como nas noções de ciberespaço e hipertexto. Resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica nos autores já mencionados, bem como seus comentadores, na primeira parte procura apresentar a hermenêutica como alternativa epistemológica em face da crise da razão metafísica e científica, e na segunda parte, busca-se apresentar a relação entre as novas tecnologias da informação e comunicação e a racionalidade hermenêutica. Ao romper com a racionalidade técnico-científica da modernidade, compreende a hermenêutica como um paradigma epistemológico viável com vista à compreensão das tecnologias da informação e comunicação na educação, uma vez que, em função de tais tecnologias, a capacidade do homem contemporâneo de refletir e dizer a realidade requer bases teóricas e metodológicas que preservem as dimensões históricas e culturais nas quais o homem contemporâneo está inserido. The morality of war has been debated from a variety of perspectives. However, it has rarely been intertwined with the topic of the existence of God. Sometimes anti-theists argue that the existence of a Western Judeo-Christian God who is omnipotent, omniscient and morally perfect is inconsistent with the existence of evils such as war. We will argue that there is no such logical inconsistency between the God of the African traditional religions and the evil of war. First, we contend that (...) such a logical inconsistency does not exist because God in African traditional religions is not seen as omnipotent, omniscient or morally perfect, and therefore, it would not be logically inconsistent for such a God to co-exist with the evil of war. This is mainly because African moral realism entails that war is a legitimate means for an imperfect being in an imperfect world to pursue morally permissible goals. Second, even if God is omniscient, omnipotent and morally perfect, when considered from the African religious viewpoint, a God of harmony, like the one in African traditional religions, can permit some evils for a greater good such as “harmony”. In this article, we will make the case for an intercultural philosophy of religion with a special focus on interculturality between Chinese and African philosophies. We will provide an overview of the kind of intercultural philosophy that has already been undertaken between the East and the South and point out that a philosophy of religion has been left out. We will then make the case for a global philosophy of religion approach and why Chinese and African philosophies of religion should (...) engage in philosophical interchanges. We will then highlight some directions for carrying out such a philosophy and explain why the problem of evil may be better addressed from an intercultural perspective. (shrink)

There are concerns that participation in open science will lead to various forms of exploitation – of researchers and scholars in low-income countries and under-resourced institutions. This article defends a contrary thesis and demonstrates the exact ways the underexplored notions of communal relationships, human dignity and social justice – and the normative principles to which they give rise – grounded in African philosophy can usefully address critical concerns regarding exploitation in the sharing of research resources to facilitate open partnership/collaboration and (...) reuse. Further research is required to study the specific roles different institutions can play in facilitating open practice and contribute towards establishing effective structures that can enhance equity and balance unfavourable power asymmetries. In his Lectures on Fine Art (1835), Hegel emphasizes the grotesque character of Indian art. Grotesqueness results, in his view, from a contradiction between meaning and shape due to the incongruous combination of spiritual and material elements. Since Hegel's history of art is teeming with examples of inadequacy between meaning and shape, this paper aims to distinguish the grotesque from other types of artistic dissonance and to problematize Hegel's ascriptions of grotesqueness to ancient Indian art. In the first part of (...) the paper, I characterize the grotesque by the unnatural distortion of natural shapes with the purpose of achieving a direct sensuous manifestation of an indeterminate and impersonal divinity, Brahman. Such an attempt is, in Hegel's view, self-contradictory and self-defeating, leading to an exaggeration of the conflict between nature and spirit instead of the intended reconciliation between the two parts. In the second part of the paper, I compare Hegel's account of Indian art to the ‘monstrous myths’ of early modern Europe. Unlike his predecessors, Hegel legitimizes the grotesque representations of Hindu gods as endowed with profound meaning and the result of a universal human need, yet he describes them as ultimately irrational and repulsive based on a prejudiced view of the Indian people(s). In this sense, Hegel's assessment of Indian art functions as a reflection of modern European culture, its fascination and horror in the face of what Enlightenment could not entirely purge, rather than as a truthful and objective account of Indian art and culture. By questioning Hegel's characterization of Hindu iconography and mythology, this paper contributes to underexplored areas of Hegelian aesthetics, namely Hegel's account of symbolic art, especially Indian art, as well as his views on negative aesthetic experiences and values. Special Relativity can be based on the whole proper group of both ortho- and antichronous Lorentz transformations, and a clear physical meaning can be given also to antichronous (i.e., nonorthochronous) Lorentz transformations. From the active point of view, the latter requires existence, for any particle, of its antiparticle within a purely relativistic, classical context. From the passive point of view, they give rise to frames “dual” to the ordinary ones, whose properties—here briefly discussed—are linked with the fact that in relativity (...) it is impossible to teach another, far observer (by transmitting only instructions, and no physical objects) our own conventions about the choices right/left, matter/antimatter, and positive/negative time direction. Interesting considerations follow, in particular, by considering—as it is the case—theCPT operation as an actual (even if antichronous) Lorentz transformation. (shrink)

In this article, we contest the idea that evil does not exist, or that it is a mistaken grasp of reality to contend that evil exists. We analyze two versions of this argument: the 'orchestra argument' and the 'mystical argument.' In common, these arguments contend that those who affirm the existence of evil in the world have a limited view of reality. We argue that these views are either over-abstract from reality or do not offer a plausible approach to the (...) problem of evil. We then advance a decolonial perspective on evil. According to the perspective advanced here, evil is conceptualized as a phenomenon that diminishes life. We contend this view provides a better account of how to understand evil. (shrink)

It is always pretentious to treat African art as though a unitary vision of art as it is currently practiced in Africa were possible. This point of view in fact ignores or neglects African diversity: the individual plastic art experiments of African artists. These diversities, tied to the varied contexts and rapid changes that are steadily taking place everywhere, no longer permit such claims.

Este artigo apresenta uma prática pedagógica realizada no Estágio Curricular Supervisionado II do Curso de Letras - Português e Espanhol na Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul (UFFS) campus Cerro Largo. O estágio foi desenvolvido em uma turma de segundo ano de uma escola pública de Ensino Médio, com duração de 16 horas. O plano de aula trabalhou o texto dissertativo-argumentativo através da temática “Regulamentação das Redes Sociais” baseado no método de Sequência Didática (Dolz, Noverraz, Schneuwly, 2004). Essa ferramenta didática consiste (...) em atividades de pré-leitura, leitura e pós-leitura, com duas produções textuais: o texto de sondagem, que visa identificar o conhecimento prévio dos alunos, e a produção textual final, que consiste no desenvolvimento de uma redação em um simulado do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM). Ademais, realizamos uma autoavaliação, em que os alunos puderam refletir criticamente sobre seu processo de ensino e aprendizagem, identificando, através de um questionário, suas dificuldades e evolução ao longo das aulas, não detendo-se somente à avaliação quantitativa feita pelo professor. Dessa forma, a partir dos resultados apresentados na autoavaliação e nas produções textuais, concluímos que os alunos demonstraram um bom aproveitamento do conteúdo trabalhado, desenvolvendo o senso crítico, a argumentação e, consequentemente, a cidadania. In recent years, different places in the world have witnessed demands for the decolonization of education. Nevertheless, it is not completely clear how this ought to be carried out. There are various factors that influence what such decolonization may entail, including the geographical place for decolonization and the discipline being decolonized. This requires a specific analysis of each context. In this article, I wish to make a proposal for how to carry out the decolonization of philosophy teaching at the university (...) level in the African context, with a special focus on South Africa. I propose that more African philosophy be included in the curricula, as well as the integration of teaching and assessing methods that reflect African culture. Further, I argue that those seeking for decolonization ought to try to pursue it incrementally, given that it is the best strategy to achieve decolonization. (shrink)

In the last three years, there has been a worldwide increase in integrating African philosophy into the philosophy curricula. Nevertheless, given that African philosophy has been largely neglected by Western academia, many philosophers in the West who do wish to integrate it are unaware of how to do it. This article aims at addressing this issue by offering some recommendations on how to integrate African philosophy into the curricula. Particularly, it offers recommendations based on how the history of ancient philosophy, (...) metaphilosophy, ethics and political philosophy have become integrated. Additionally, there is a recommendation for how to make an entirely new module based on African political philosophy. (shrink)

A partir das considerações sobre a essência da técnica e do artefato, procuramos pensar o seu valor e seu potencial na cultura e na sociedade, e estabelecer em que medida há uma dimensão política sobre esse problema para, então, tentar mostrar que tecnologia precisa possuir um tipo necessário de política. No presente trabalho, partindo do artigo de Langdon Winner e de considerações sobre tecnologia e sociedade, bem como nos valendo de outros nomes do ramo com perspectivas diferentes sobre a técnica, (...) com ênfase em Gilbert Simondon (1924 – 1989) e a sua abordagem sobre o problema entre individuação, técnica e cultura, tentaremos entender possíveis soluções que auxiliem o debate contemporâneo e problemático sobre técnica e política, em especial quando o pressuposto benefício da técnica aos seres humanos não encontra correspondência na realidade. Finalmente, identificar na ação do técnico e na potencialidade criativa e instauradora da individuação novos regimes e condições de realidade que possam fornecer uma base política coletiva. Longe de esgotar os problemas levantados, as considerações aqui presentes nos servem para levar adiante a questão presente sobre a técnica e sua dimensão política. (shrink)

RESUMO O objetivo do artigo é proceder a uma análise da personagem Alison, esposa de Bath, na obra Os contos de Canterbury, de Geofrey Chaucer. Para isso, com base em Bakhtin (2010, 2018), em particular a partir da perspectiva da carnavalização, somada à teoria da performatividade de gênero de Butler (1988, 2017), pretendemos mostrar como a referida personagem subverte, carnavalizadamente, certos textos bíblicos referentes ao papel da mulher no matrimônio. Dessa forma, nesse estudo, para efeito de análise, tomamos da obra (...) chaucereana o prólogo da esposa de Bath visto que nele a personagem elabora, de modo mais evidente, sua relação tensa e, ao mesmo tempo cômica, com a Bíblia. Da análise feita, concluímos, assim, que a esposa de Bath, de maneira carnavalizada, performatiza o gênero feminino em pleno período medieval, mostrando-se subversiva aos estereótipos da época ao profanar certas orientações bíblicas, tanto do Velho como do Novo Testamento, relativamente ao que é ser mulher e esposa. O presente trabalho é resultado da pesquisa­ação realizado pelo grupo PIBID­ Sociologia de Marília. A pesquisa encontra­se em andamento e tem como objetivo o desenvolvimento de atividades didático­pedagógicas para o ensino de Sociologia com estudantes do Ensino Médio, bem como de materias didático de apoio, baseados na teoria Histórico­Cultural, com especial ênfase em Leontiev (a partir da Teoria da Atividade). Com a perspectiva de melhor compreender os trabalhos realizados, seguem­se as análises com a utilização das contribuições de Galperin (com a (...) Teoria da Formação por Etapa das Ações Mentais). O desenvolvimento desta pesquisa se faz necessário, entre muitas coisas, devido a não consolidação da disciplina nas grades curriculares brasileiras, o que levou a uma escassez de acúmulos de materiais nessa área do conhecimento. Dessa forma, o texto apóia­ se nesses autores, tendo como base a formação de conceitos a partir das ações objetivas dos seres humanos – neste caso os estudantes. Ele sustenta, ainda, que a educação e o processo de ensino/aprendizagem só poderão cumprir o papel de propulsora do desenvolvimento humano, quando esse processo se der a partir da ação intencional dos sujeitos, de maneira a fazer com que os mesmos, se apropriem e ressignifiquem o conceito/conhecimento histórico­socialmente criado, que lhes seja necessário. ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to analyze the character Alison, the wife of Bath, in Geofrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales. To do this, based on Bakhtin (1984a, 1984b), especially from the perspective of carnivalization, together with Butler’s theory of gender performativity (1988, 1999), we intend to show how this character carnivalistically subverts certain biblical texts relating to the role of women in marriage. Thus, for the purposes of this study, we have taken the Wife of Bath’s prologue from (...) Chaucer’s work, because in it she constructs her polemical more explicitly and the comic relationship with the Bible at the same time. From this analysis, we conclude that Bath’s wife, in a carnivalized way, performs the feminine gender in the middle of the medieval period, showing herself to be subversive of the stereotypes of the time by profaning certain biblical guidelines, from both the Old and New Testaments, regarding what it means to be a woman and a wife. Este estudo apresenta uma abordagem aproximativa entre as discussões propostas pelo modelo social de deficiência e as concepções filosóficas do médico e filósofo Georges Canguilhem. A partir dos conceitos de doença, patologia, anomalia, normalidade e anormalidade, busca-se aqui, atualizar a discussão dialogando com as preposições do modelo social de deficiência. Elegemos como referencial teórico a obra O normal e o patológico, de Georges Canguilhem e as contribuições de Débora Diniz na obra O que é deficiência; além disso, uma busca na (...) plataforma Google acadêmico foi feita com os seguintes descritores: normal – anormal – norma – normalidade – deficiência. Foram feitas as seguintes associações de descritores: normal/deficiência, anormal/deficiência, norma/deficiência e normalidade/deficiência. Após a leitura dos resumos, constatamos que quatro textos encontrados tratam da temática abordada neste artigo, portanto, fizemos a opção de integrá-los ao referencial teórico deste estudo. Espera-se que essa abordagem aproximativa possibilite uma reflexão a respeito do conceito de normalidade, distanciando-o da deficiência, e assim, aumentando as possibilidades de alcançarmos uma sociedade cada vez mais inclusiva. O presente artigo coloca em evidência uma proposta sobre educação e os respectivos pressupostos para que ela aconteça no sujeito, tendo como referência a pedagogia da hospitalidade com base na filosofia da alteridade em Levinas. Nesse caso, a educação não é vista a partir do movimento do Eu em direção do Outro, mas sim, o contrário. Precisamente o Outro assume o protagonismo pedagógico já que o Eu se abre à possibilidade de acolhida do Outro sem nenhum critério preestabelecido, de forma (...) assimétrica. A partir disso, o texto apresenta a possibilidade de uma hospitalidade a partir da alteridade, tendo o Outro como base de uma relação ética em que o Eu é convidado a participar do convívio do Outro. Essa pedagogia rompe as barreiras de uma educação centrada tão-somente na capacidade do eu egoísta, mas se abre ao infinito das possibilidades da relação onde o Outro se revela com sua história, cultura, e o Eu se adequa às necessidades daquilo que se apresenta como diferente. O rosto do Outro revela ao sujeito o infinito e o valor dele como superação do próprio preconceito por meio da pedagogia da hospitalidade. (shrink)

Medical interpreters are indispensable in healthcare, breaking down language barriers to restore autonomy to patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). By facilitating clear communication, they enable these patients to understand and make informed choices about their treatment options. However, their role extends beyond translation; medical interpreters also advocate for LEP patients within a healthcare system that can often be unjust. This advocacy can expose interpreters to the very inequities and challenges they strive to overcome on behalf of LEP patients, adversely (...) affecting their own health and well-being. The narratives explored here shed light on these experiences, highlighting the need for systemic changes. By understanding these stories, we can better advocate for reforms that support and value medical interpreters, ultimately improving the health and well-being of both interpreters and the communities they serve.
